The World Health Organisation (WHO) is an organisation that works to create a world which offers everyone the opportunity to live healthy lives – no matter who they are or where they live. The WHO works worldwide to promote health and keep the world safe; with focus on universal health coverage (such as improving access to essential services), health emergencies (such as detecting and responding to acute health emergencies) and health and wellbeing (such as prioritising heath in all policies and health settings). The WHO also address issues such as climate change and antimicrobial resistance. The WHO has an international presence.
